Watch Live: Fed Chairs Powell & Bernanke Chat It Up

Fed Chair Jerome Powell and former Chair Ben Bernanke will participate in a panel discussion today at the Thomas Laubach Research Conference in Washington, D.C.. The panel discussion topic is ‘Perspectives on Monetary Policy’.

“This year’s conference will highlight key issues in monetary policy and the economy and facilitate discussions on the challenges faced by monetary policymakers.”

The question on everyone’s minds is whether Powell will follow the same ‘hawkish’ rhetoric of several of his fellow Fed officials in recent days (all pushing back aggressively on the market’s expectations for rate-cuts) or will he leave the forward guidance more open (dovish-er) like at the last FOMC statement/presser.
