A former teacher’s aide in Georgia, who may have a disturbing interest in children’s feet, has been arrested again after he allegedly asked to see yet another boy’s feet.
Last Wednesday, Caurey Rollins, 26, was allegedly driving along in Grovetown, Georgia, about 12 miles west of Augusta, when he spotted a 12-year-old boy outside shooting hoops. Rollins stopped his vehicle and struck up a conversation with the boy. According to reports, Rollins then showed the boy a picture of feet, which he had on his cell phone. When Rollins asked the boy whether his feet looked like those seen in the picture, the boy replied in the negative. When Rollins then asked the boy to show him his feet, the boy refused and ran into his house to tell his mother.
The boy’s mother, whose name has not been released, had heard stories about a local former teacher’s aide who had recently been arrested for expressing interest in seeing a boy’s feet. She then did a quick internet search and came upon Rollins’ name and picture. She showed her son Rollins’ picture, and the boy reportedly confirmed that Rollins was the driver who had just asked to see his feet. His mother called police, who arrested Rollins and charged him with attempting to commit a felony.
At the time of the incident with the 12-year-old, Rollins was out on bond. Less than two weeks earlier, he had been released from custody in nearby Richmond County, where he faces eight counts of child molestation in connection to two sets of allegations. The first is related to the story that the 12-year-old’s mother had heard, that Rollins had been accused of inappropriately interacting with a young boy’s feet.
In January, Rollins went to the Urban Air Adventure Park in Augusta and placed himself inside a fenced-in area designated for children. He then began interacting with a 7-year-old boy, talking with him and tickling his feet. Rollins then allegedly asked the boy “to remove his socks” and began kissing and licking the boy’s feet and sucking on his toes right there in the park.
At the time, Rollins had been working as a physical education paraprofessional at Glenn Hills Elementary School. After the allegations of foot-licking surfaced, the Richmond County School System placed him on administrative leave, and he resigned his position a few weeks later.
“I appreciate everything you have done for me so far, but it is in my best interest to step down from the Board of Education and seek other employment,” Rollins reportedly wrote in an email dated February 11.
While the school and law enforcement continued an investigation into the incident at Urban Air Adventure Park, other horrific allegations against Rollins came to light, and he was soon accused of molesting four young girls whom he had met through his job at GHES. The mother of one of the alleged victims claimed that Rollins’ abuse nearly drove her 11-year-old daughter to suicide. “She was trying to say something was going on, that something made her uncomfortable,” the unidentified mother said, “but she didn’t know how to express, just come out and say it ’cause, at that time, he was still at the school when it was going on.”
Accused foot-licker arrested again while out on bond
After a grand jury indicted Rollins on those molestation charges, prosecutors requested that he be denied bond, but Judge Amanda Heath denied that request. On May 8, she set his bond at $35,000 on the condition that he adhere to a curfew, avoid contact with any of the alleged victims, avoid returning to the locations where the alleged molestations took place, and that he attend all subsequent court proceedings. He was out on bond when he supposedly attempted to see the 12-year-old basketball player’s feet.
Right now, he remains in custody in Columbia County, where the most recent incident allegedly took place. Richmond County, where the molestations allegedly took place, is attempting to have Rollins extradited to custody there, but Capt. Steve Morris of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said that won’t happen “anytime soon.” When he is next scheduled to appear in court is unclear.
