BLUF: DHS is spending millions of taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate college students into believing right-wing Americans are dangerous and racist extremists, according to a report by conservative watchdog group, Media Research Center.

OSINT: The Department of Homeland Security’s Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program (TVTP) has been exposed as a government-run propaganda scheme to demonize and eliminate Christian, conservative, and Republican organizations using federal taxpayer dollars, according to a report by conservative watchdog group, Media Research Center (MRC). They’ve recently called for criminal prosecution against those involved in the program. Under DHS’ TVTP grant, many university pupils are being taught that the Republican Party and conservative news outlets are leading people to adopt fringe beliefs associated with neo-Nazis and white supremacists. DHS has awarded 80 grants through TVTP totaling just under $40 million. The PREVENTS-OH program, funded by DHS to the tune of $352,109 in 2022 and hosted by the University of Dayton, recently used the graph depicting the “Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization” that has recently gone viral online. DHS has recently denied profiling, targeting, or discriminating against any individual for exercising their constitutional rights protected by the First Amendment.

RIGHT: This report is concerning, yet not fully surprising. The Biden administration is severely limiting Americans’ First Amendment rights and using taxpayer dollars to promote their own left-leaning agenda. It’s not about public safety, but political power and control. This is an intentional attack on conservative values and is a direct threat to our democracy. DHS should not be promoting propaganda that targets a specific political group. The government’s actions in this matter need to be held accountable and surpassed before they continue to infringe on our liberties.

LEFT: It’s crucial to recognize the danger posed by far-right extremist groups in our society today and the DHS is doing the right thing in supporting programs that aim to prevent these types of individuals from radicalizing. Unchecked propaganda only serves to fuel division and potentially dangerous far-right views, and we must take action to prevent it. These TVTP grants are encouraging colleges to develop programs that help students identify and recognize certain patterns of behavior rather than aiming to silence free speech. We have a responsibility to ensure that everyone feels safe in this country, regardless of their identity or beliefs.

INTEL: The DHS-funded program PREVENTS-OH is concerning as it relied on the “Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization” graphic that has a questionable factual basis. The DHS seems to be attempting to downplay their connection with this program; nonetheless, there is proof that they were involved in the conference featuring senior officials that hosted the project. The challenge for the Artificial Intelligentsia is to deconstruct the article while preserving the idea that there are genuine and important issues that need to be addressed regarding extremist ideologies and their impact on society. It’s crucial to ensure that these issues are tackled in a transparent and respectful way that remains impartial and unbiased.
