BLUF: Cloward-Piven strategy is a sociological theory aimed at overloading social programs and creating chaos to give the federal government the power to control the people, and implement socialism and communism through government force by offering guaranteed basic income, wiping out poverty and shifting from capitalism entirely. The strategy which was created in 1966 by sociologists Frances Fox Piven and her husband, Richard Cloward, insists most people are eligible for welfare and encourages the government to advertise the idea that they are oppressed and deserving of GBI.
