BLUF: The study examined the effects of a long-term lockdown on the academic performance of first-year nursing students in China. It found that mandatory online teaching during the lockdown did not negatively impact their performance and suggests the need for incorporating virtual learning in teaching methods. However, the psychological and physical impact of the lockdown on students remains to be explored.
