BLUF: Researchers at Northwestern University have discovered a silent threat to urban infrastructure, revealing that underground climate change can lead to significant structural damage over time. But this can be potentially mitigated through turning waste heat into energy.

OSINT: Have you ever considered the unseen peril beneath the concrete jungle of our global cities? A study from Northwestern University has unveiled it: an underground climate shift due to increasing temperatures. This climate change below our feet is causing the ground to warp and deform, potentially jeopardizing urban structural integrity.
