The study revealed how AI models captured even the smallest changes in vocalizing species, mirroring the slow but steady recovery of these habitats.

The researchers plan to elevate this approach further by refining their AI models, intending to record more species and apply this methodology in other protected areas as well. Professor Jörg Müller, of Würzburg, even envisions these AI models becoming a universal tool for monitoring biodiversity in reforested zones, applicable for certifications, biodiversity credits, and more.
