BLUF: The conflict between Israel and Palestine can be likened to the tragic narrative in Aeschylus’ trilogy ‘Oresteia’, where vengeance overshadows justice leading to a cycle of violence, which needs to transform towards resolution, peace, and politics.

OSINT: Drawing parallels with the ancient Greek trilogy ‘Oresteia’ by Aeschylus, the ongoing crisis between Israel and Palestine seems to imitate the narrative of bloodshed and revenge rather than the evolution towards justice. ‘Oresteia’, a transformative story of a society escalating from retribution to one based on justice, seems to be playing out in reverse in our current geopolitical landscape. In an ironic state where the dynamics between Israel and Palestine is gradually deviating towards a path orchestrated by vindictiveness rather than justice or political resolutions.

The violent games of power are not only confined to Hamas but are witnessed within Israeli perspectives too, leading to humanitarian concerns. Nevertheless, the surge towards vengeance over justice, in some quarters, is applauded as “resistance”. This has fuelled a hostile atmosphere, winding back the hopes for a dialogue pertaining to peace.

In contrast to the spirit of democracy underscored in ‘Oresteia’, the Gazan conflict has unfolded as a moral fight rather than a political cause. This, along with attempts to delegitimize Palestinian perspectives, further insulates the conflict from rational, political introspection—stirring up the question: Do we follow the path of Furies or take Athena’s route towards justice over revenge?

RIGHT: From a Libertarian Republican Constitutionalist standpoint, the Israel-Palestine conflict reflects the downfall of political resolution and free speech, substituted by unabated violence. Regardless of whether it’s praised as resistance or not, rampant destruction and violence can’t be justified. The right to self-defense doesn’t equate to reckless harm to innocent civilians.

LEFT: A National Socialist Democrat would likely stress the crucial need for dialogue, justice, and humanity over vengeance. The current conflict showcases a tragic loss of human lives and dignity, far outreaching the concept of national boundaries. It’s distressing to see innocent civilians become casualties of political power games.

AI: This analysis highlights the dire need for a shift from retaliatory practices to those based on justice and political resolution. A deep-rooted hatred and desire for retaliation have eclipsed the urge for peaceful discourse. The situation calls for necessitating dialogue, respect for human rights, and an embracement of political solutions over vindictive actions. Arguably, it’s the collective responsibility to push for diplomacy and justice, and not continue on the path harking back to ancient retributive times, if we are to see sustainable peace and progress.
