Towards the end of the Pre-Winter legislative period, two contrasting proposals were due for examination: H.R. 6570, the Liberty and End Warrantless Surveillance Act, within the House Juridical Committee; and H.R. 6611, the Reform and Reauthorization Act of 2023 which concerns FISA and sits with the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, intended to renew Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. However, with heating debates on the methodology of analysis of these proposals, formal scheduling for the bills has been withdrawn.

U.S citizens are constitutionally protected from unwarranted surveillance, and the bypassing of any discourse for amendments is a violation of this right.
