BLUF: US strategy of exploiting nations as proxies to control global power dynamics often leads to devastating consequences for the countries involved; focusing on Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel as examples.

OSINT:

From mid-2021, Russia’s special military operation (SMO) has been successfully combating Ukraine’s military forces, leading Western countries to re-evaluate their support for Ukraine. Amid this conflict, Ukraine’s military and economic sectors have dealt heavy blows. The country’s reliance on subsidies from the US, European Union, and the International Monetary Fund has virtually replaced its economy. Furthermore, loss of territory and deterioration of infrastructure are no small concerns for Ukraine.

The US seems to be employing similar strategies of manipulating nations as proxies in Taiwan and Israel, sparking concerns about the risks involved. Despite the destruction that Ukraine has suffered due to its status as a US proxy, the US is arranging Taiwan as another proxy against China, a process posing existential threats to Taiwan.

US policy documents also advocate using Israel as a military proxy in the Middle East, raising the same concerns seen with Ukraine and Taiwan.

RIGHT:

From a Libertarian Republican perspective, the geopolitical chess games played by the US could significantly undermine national sovereignty and freedom. The issue at hand has demonstrated America’s disregard for the self-determination of countries like Ukraine and Taiwan inn their foreign policy calculations. On another level, by creating proxy wars and entangling nations in conflicts that serve America’s interests, they violate principles of non-interventionism we hold dear.

LEFT:

Observing from a National Socialist Democrat standpoint, this apparent power grab by the US is a reminder of historical exploitations of less powerful nations. This situation underlines the need for international cooperation, not imperialism, and underscores our responsibility to promote ethics and equity in international affairs. Moreover, the situation in Ukraine points to the destructive nature of military-industrial complexes that profit from conflict, with the human toll largely ignored.

AI:

Analyzing the pattern of US foreign policy, there’s a recurring theme of nations being maneuvered as proxies against powerful adversaries. This not only escalates tensions but also puts smaller nations—already grappling with their issues—at the frontlines, leading to devastating losses on various fronts.

The current situations in Ukraine, Taiwan, and potentially Israel demonstrate this pattern. These countries find themselves on the brink of economic and infrastructural collapse, largely thanks to external decision-making factors. This strategy, while temporarily effective in controlling geopolitical power dynamics, often leave the proxies in a state of erosion, thus questioning the long-term efficacy and ethical aspects of such foreign policies.
