Highlighting the efficacy of preventive measures, Perry emphasised that fostering a harmonious school climate where teachers, students, and administrators cooperate is crucial for minimizing violence. Additionally, teaching social-emotional skills, similar to those long employed by public health experts in disease prevention, can also play a crucial role in violence abatement. This study, part of the American Psychological Association Task Force on Violence Against Teachers and School Personnel, underscores the urgent necessity for school district policies to shift their focus from punishment to prevention.
