During National Police Week, the Department of Homeland Security pays special tribute to the heroic law enforcement officers who lost their lives protecting us all. We honor them this week, yet we remember them always. We are forever indebted to those who serve and protect – those we have lost and those who continue to serve.
Police Week is a special occasion each year when our law enforcement family gathers across the country to grieve our fallen colleagues and move forward together, strengthened by the bonds of service to the noble mission of law enforcement. During this week of remembrance and mourning, DHS is reflecting on their sacrifices through a series of memorial events. Below, we share moments from this week’s commemorative events.

ICE Honors HSI Special Agent Louis H. Aguirre
In a special Police Week ceremony, ICE honored Special Agent Louis H. Aguirre, who died on November 27, 2020, as a result of the cancer he developed after his assignment investigating those who were responsible for the attacks on September 11, 2001. FPS Shares Commemorative Police Week Video
