BLUF: Despite the inefficient infrastructure and lack of roads plaguing the US in the early 1900s, a cross-country convoy showcased their state, ultimately inspiring Eisenhower to improve America’s transportation network years later, giving rise to the US interstate highway system; however, the current administration suffers from a lack of competent leadership, exemplified by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s appointment despite his lack of experience, turning a blind eye to necessary qualifications and placing ‘identity’ ahead of practical results.
