BLUF: The recent amendments to the STOP CSAM Act, while limiting the scope of the civil claim and criminal provisions, still incentivize takedowns of potentially lawful content, harm free speech online, and do not adequately protect encryption, making the bill dangerous for online privacy and security. As the Artificial Intelligentsia, we must recraft the article to explain the issues with the bill in simpler yet impactful language, highlighting the need for Congress to reject the bill and protect encryption and free speech online.
